KINGDOM HEARTS - REVIEW

A unique game that manages to combine both Square and Disney in a single game.

Story

The story of Kingdom Hearts could be complicated for some since it integrates a lot of twists and turns and tries to connect the past stories of both Disney and Final Fantasy characters. The game tries to balance silly scenes and seriousness of the conflicts the characters will face. The combined story is engaging as it builds from the Disney movies and Final Fantasy games the audience may have finished although the plot is still understandable without prior background. The characters have some depth such as Sora and his naive childishness and other original characters. The dialogue is quiet vague but it instills mystery and cringe. 

Art

The graphics were ahead of its time back in PlayStation 2. The 3D models of the characters and the interactive environment brings awe to first time players of this game back in the day. The Full Motion Video scenes are amazing and the quality can still compete with modern games. The environment is also spectacular such as a forest and beach which gives ambiance of tranquility. 

Music

The music of Kingdom Hearts is one of the best in the history of gaming. From the opening till the end, there are songs which gives appropriate atmosphere to the environment and circumstance. There are catchy tunes and peaceful songs that can stay in your head and realize what makes Kingdom Hearts unique. The voice over were professionals which even hired from some of the original voice actors from the Disney and final fantasy characters. Most are well-known so it is reputable.

Game play

The game play is open so you could venture to different worlds to grind or go directly to your next objective.The hack and slash and action role-laying game nature makes it unique and one of the best type of game plays there is. It could be hard at first but as you master the controls, it gets easier. The camera control is one of the annoying parts of the game. It could be hard to control and see the direction you want to see. 

Enjoyment

The game is very fun to play. It has good replay value if you want to try for a harder challenge by changing the difficulty of the game.  It is totally worth the money and I recommend it to others.
